Bert Hellinger, Acknowledge What Is

Yin and Yang symbol

On looking at the world at a higher level! —-I prefer to look at opposites at a higher level. The so-called good and the so-called evil have effect at a higher level together. War and peace work together. One political stance works together with the other, and they serve each other. Looked at it that way, every movement, even those we judge as bad, contributes something to the whole. Many people today believe that one has the power to destroy the world with atomic bombs. others who protect against this believe they have the power to prevent that!. That’s a misconception of what kind of powers are at work in the world. In both cases, it’s a mistake to believe that the source and the power to act lie in the hands of the individual. That’s not enough. Protests and opposition are still very important and must be. It is only the idea that it is in “our hands” that goes too far for me. I see those for, and those against all sitting in the same boat, both sides believe they have it in their own hands (and both believe they have the right), and both are perhaps prepared to exercise the same violence. They differ from each other only in the content, not in the fundamental attitude. That means that whatever we do, we are all in service of the whole! Bert Hellinger (Acknowledging what is)
